Guest speakers are Sara Flocks, public policy coordinator for the California Labor Federation; Marty Hittelman, president of the California Federation of Teachers; and Conny Ford, vice president for political activities for the SFLC. LaborFest is in its 17th year! There are events throughout the month of July celebrating and educating about the Labor Movement. Come out to see a film, go on a walking tour, or participate in a forum. You can check out the entire scheule here.
Who founded the American Federation of Labor? What year was the National Labor Relations Act passed? Come join us in the second LaborFest Jeopardy contest. Using a jeopardy format, labor organizations from throughout the Bay Area will compete for prizes and pride while answering questions covering all areas of labor history and practice. Come cheer on your favorite team and learn something new in this fun and friendly contest. Stanislaus playwright and CSUS-CFA Professor Edward Hernandez will be the master of ceremonies.
